To me John was a big man.
As a Father-in-Law and as a friend, he was a true Gent. We had many laughs together over the years and many serious conversations. John knew when he was never going to win with my wife, and when it was best to shut up. But when we were alone he was never frightened to air his opinion, before also listening to mine.
I can truely say I miss John dearly, and wish I could have done more to help him when he needed it most.

My grandad was very funny and always told a lot of jokes. He was always happy to see us and he worshipped his dog. My grandad was the best grandad that you could get and we all loved him to bits.We will miss him forever and there's not a day goes by when I don't think about him.

My dad was head strong, & determind to keep his independance right until his death. He refused help from any one other than immediate family & refused accomadation that would be better for him because he would not of been able to keep his dog who he dearly loved. My dad was one of the very few who also suffered from dementia which made it more difficult to communicate with others but he never lost his sense of humour with his grandchildren.
