To me John was a big man. As a Father-in-Law and as a friend, he was a true Gent. We had many laughs together over the years and many serious conversations. John knew when he was never going to win with my wife, and when it was best to shut up. But when we were alone he was never frightened to air his opinion, before also listening to mine. I can truely say I miss John dearly, and wish I could have done more to help him when he needed it most.
